A Message from the President of the WSO Board of Directors Ken Wenger
As the newly elected President of the WSO Board of Directors, it is with tremendous
pride that I welcome you to our 45th season.
The WSO has had some significant changes in the last year or so. We have elected new officers andadded talented new board members to an already stellar group of trustees. I am deeply grateful for the decades our former President, Greg Dinger, served and his continued support on the board. It is also impossible to describe the appreciation we have for our hardworking Executive Director, Dana White-Marks. We simply would not be here without the devotion of both Greg and Dana.
I am happy to report that after Maestra Mina Kim completed her first season with the outstanding synergy she created with our orchestra musicians, she has put together a season that will enthrall our audience. I am inspired by her deep musical knowledge and how she is able to impart such nuance like no one else. As members of our audience, you are here because, like me, you treasure classical music. In these days of so many ways to hear music, and so many types of music, you have taken the time to enjoy the full spectrum of emotions that one piece of music can convey through such complex use of texture, colors and finesse. Our orchestra is home to some of the most gifted and accomplished classical musicians, not merely from Woodstock, but from all over the Hudson Valley. We are so thankful for them and I know they are grateful to be able to sit amongst each other while they make and perform for us such sublime music. This would all be impossible without the continued financial support of our donors, large and small, for whom the orchestra members, our full board of directors and I, are eternally grateful. Thank you!
